- WWII Veteran of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes, ME Alpha Brother Captain Vito Ciccotelli, U.S. Army, 94, died 16 OCT 2012 at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro after a long illness. Calling hours will be held Friday 1800 to 2000 at the R.M. Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester NH 03867. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1200 in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery located on Lowell Street in Rochester, NH. Vito was born in Italy, and came to the United States in February 1931. He served in the U.S. Army from February of 1941 to February 1946. Vito went to Europe in March 1944, and was in battles and campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Ardennes. Brother Ciccotelli was promoted to Captain and was later discharged from inactive reserve. Brother Ciccotelli graduated from the University of Maine in 1950 with a B.S. in Civil Engineering.
