OSU fraternity to check residents’ smoke alarm

OSU fraternity to check residents’ smoke alarm:

Members of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity at Oregon State University will be going door-to-door today in the 5000 block of N.E. Elliott Circle to check residents’ smoke alarms.
The students will be in the neighborhood from 5 to 7 p.m., with replacement batteries for smoke alarms that need them and smoke alarms for homes that are without them.
The fraternity is providing the batteries, and the office of the state fire marshal tutored the volunteers and is supplying the smoke alarms.
The campaign is being conducted as part of National Fire Safety Month.
