SigEp Students Help Defend Oxford Police Officer

Three Miami University fraternity brothers tackled a man accused of assaulting an Oxford police officer Friday night.
Ryan Hoffner, Tyler Lindroth and Charlie Nuck said they were playing Frisbee in front of their fraternity home when they saw a man beating down a police officer.
The Oxford Police Department said the officer stopped the intoxicated man walking near University Avenue and Vine Street and told him to throw away his beer, but the man jumped the officer, catching him off guard.
"Ryan was first to make the tackle, then Charlie got on top, and then I came in and held him down. All three of us held (the man) down until the officer could come and cuff him," Lindroth said.
