Tennessee Alpha chapter house undergoing renovation

Renovations are under way
A full-scale renovation of Tennessee Alpha's (Univ. of Tennessee) 45 year-old chapter house is underway. The house has been completely gutted so structural repairs can be made and up to date infrastructure (plumbing, HVAC, electric, etc.) installed.

Work began in mid-January. The $2 million plus renovation is scheduled to be complete in early August, just in time for a grand reopening as brothers and students return for Fall Semester. The house has been unoccupied for nearly 2 years as final plans were made. Needless to say all the chapter members are eager to get back into their 'home'. Many of the newer members will be experiencing chapter house living for the first time.

Even though the chapter has been without a house they have been able to maintain a strong membership and presence on campus. From a prior membership level of 100 they are now at 80 and have enjoyed successful recruitment seasons. When asked how they managed to keep up with other houses one brother replied "A large social budget!"
