Glad to do it, Ed.
Notice I didn't write "Attention Fast Runners!"Ed's contact info is linked on his name. Best wishes to ya, Ed. I hope you get lots of enthusiasm stirred up for the groups.
Anyone interested in forming a running club open to all brothers?
It is interesting how great ideas evolve. I am interested in moving the thought to an actionable stage.
A brother and I living in DC are running in the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler on April 1st. Recently we exchanged email with a third brother living in the area about getting a group together to run on the National Mall on Saturdays or Sundays.
Aspects of our communication spilled in to correspondence I was having with another brother who then told me of the enthusiasm the "SigEp Striders" received at Conclave in Nashville in 2005. For many of you, this may be the first time you have heard of this - me too - but apparently the thought was to create an activity program to encourage and promote physical health among SigEps.
While I prefer to run alone that gets boring after a while, and I have enjoyed being in running clubs in the past.
I'll close with two questions:
1. Are there any other brothers living in the DC area that are interested in getting together to run (ok, run/walk for some of us) on Saturdays or Sundays and then get something to eat? (that is why I run...so I can eat)
2. Are there brothers in other parts of the country interested in doing the same?
By the way...
Whatever happened to the "Striders"? Another great idea that never took flight. Who dropped the ball?
